In Nourishing Flourishes, Erica Trabold explores the delicate and often fraught intersection between domestic life and artistic practice. Through layered works that blend florals, food imagery, essay fragments, and analog collage, she reimagines “women’s work” as a site of creative resistance and transformation.
Rather than preparing meals in the kitchen, she prepares them on the page—where care, critique, and imagination coexist. Her process mirrors her writing practice, shaped by repetition, juxtaposition, and the spaces between fragments, allowing meaning to emerge through arrangement and rhythm.
Since becoming a mother, this practice has deepened, with collage becoming both a tactile extension of her literary work and a record of lived experience. The result is work that holds exhaustion and wonder at once—artifacts of making, thinking, and becoming that refuse separation between life and art.
